(Trying) To Keep It Healthy...

One of my BIG pieces of parenting advice from here on out will be NOT to start your baby on jarred food but fresh real home made food. We have Baby G on a complete organic diet and we were gifted about 40 cans of organic jarred baby food when she started eating solids. It amazed me, the kid hated carrots but loved greens, specifically the jarred “spinach & potatoes”. Being the home maker I am (joke) a couple weekends ago I decided to grab some fresh food from the farmers market and whip up some home made fresh versions of the dishes G liked best. Late into a Sunday night I cooked my little heart away proud that my baby would be getting the best. I made a total of two weeks worth of food.

The next night I was excited to let G have a taste of my creations. But, lesson learned just because she likes the jars DOESN’T mean she will like it fresh. Here’s what happened…

She thought deeply about how she would break it to me that the food was not what she was hoping for….

Then the gagging, squished, “I hate this face” came out…every bite. Eventually I didn’t have the heart to give her anymore and went back to the jar…

Now I have a a freezer full of frozen baby food and a baby who won’t eat it.
